Pumpkin Souper!

Saturday.

We had some more visitors today. Not the scary pumpkins from Halloween, but Elizabeth’s son Dennis and her granddaughter Anna.

I was meeting them for the first time.

Over butter cookies and coffee we set about discussing everything from school to global warming and the cost of living. The latter seems to crop up in every conversation these days.

Elizabeth was delighted to see her son and granddaughter and I’m always happy when she is happy.

In the evening we were invited to Yolande and Leo’s for a dinner of pumpkin soup.  This was the delicious kind - not the scary kind from the photo above. We had a pleasant walk from our apartment to their house (about 20 minutes) and worked up an appetite.

We had a nice long chat before Yolande served us her delicious soup. Here is her supply of pumpkins some of which she used in the soup:

I thought it was excellent but I found it very filling and could only manage one bowl before I was full. I was so busy eating and talking that I forgot to take a photo of the soup which was a lovely Dutch orange colour.  Patriotic soup!

Once again we had a lovely evening  with great friends.

Thanks very much as always to Yolande and Leo. We also have to thank them for looking after the apartment when we are not here and for checking the post box. It’s a great help to us.

We then walked home under the romantic full moon for coffee and chocolates. (Somehow there’s always room for chocolate).

So it was another busy day. I think Elizabeth is beginning to look forward to a rest when we return to England and I am always ready to rest.

We have more family visiting tomorrow and we have to pack for our trip to our other home so it will be another busy day.

Need to sleep now.. 😴😴😴😴
