We are having a quiet day at our apartment. This evening we have been invited to dinner with Elizabeth’s son Dennis, his wife Petra and daughters Floor and Anna.
Floor has recently passed her driving test and we are looking forward to seeing her skills as we go to Leimuiden.

As usual we took our walk before lunch. We saw some more pollarded trees and a lone swan. Here’s a few pictures:
Dennis and Floor came to collect us at 1600 as planned. Floor was driving and we travelled in luxury - my first time in a Porsche!
Floor turned out to be an excellent driver and we arrived in Leimuiden.
Petra had prepared a wonderful 4 course meal which we all enjoyed immensely. We were in good company and had a very convivial evening. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of excellent French wine. At the end of the evening Dennis presented me with a special bottle of wine which I look forward to sampling during the rest of our holiday.
It was wonderful for Elizabeth to see her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. And they seemed to enjoy our company too!
After our meal Floor returned us to our apartment here in Wormer. We were home in time to see a movie: “Gone Girl”. A good thriller with an enigmatic ending.
And so to bed…..
