We are in the final stages of packing for a two week holiday in The Netherlands.
We fly out from Heathrow tomorrow afternoon.
For me the packing process is almost painless as I have my own expert packing and traveling manager.
Actually there is not too much to pack and we are only taking carry on baggage.
Because of Covid and health problems this trip is taking place much later than we had originally hoped so we are both really looking forward to it.
The delay has meant that I have had more time to practice my Dutch. So wish me luck with that!
There is also a possibility that I will be cycling whilst we are there as I have been very kindly given a bike.
The only trouble is that I have not ridden a bike for 50 years!
I know the saying is that it is something you never forget (“like riding a bike!”) - but I have my doubts. But I’m happy to give it a try. It will be very handy for viewing the sites in Wormer.
That is the village in North Holland where we will be staying.
I’m looking forward to meeting Elizabeth’s family and to sampling some local food and beer!
If the biking works I hope to see sights like the following and I’ll try to post each day to keep up to date so look out for more news.
